RenderFriend is built upon a foundation of Intel dual Quad core Xeon processors running between 3.0 and 3.2 Ghz, all aligned to form a powerful network of high-end rendering servers. All of our servers are homogenous, meaning that all of the processors are the same. This helps alleviate discrepancies occurring from different processors computing various random functions and floating point calculations slightly differently. All our servers are connected via a segmented Gigabit switch, backed up by powerful 5000VA UPS power backup. All servers have redundant power supplies, redundant network connectivity and 8 GIGs of RAM each. Our servers are housed in a climate-controlled, air filtered environment and are automatically backed up each day. Combined with a 2 terabyte drive for our shared network FTP server.

Our servers are rotated out of commission every 18 months so we are running with the newest technology at all times.

Our core servers are brand new Dell PowerEdge 1950 Generation III units...powerful and easy to maintain, securely running Windows Server 2003 - 64 bit.

Additional render nodes are comprised of brand new Mac Pro Dual Quad towers, all running at 3.2 Ghz., Leopard and 4 GIGs of ram.
